Diesel and South African Amapiano star Daliwonga are taking their partnership to the next level with the launch of a 10-piece capsule collection, bringing together music, fashion and self-expression. The collaboration marks a new chapter in a relationship that began in 2024, when Daliwonga was named Diesel’s brand ambassador for the South African market.

The Diesel x Daliwonga capsule collection officially launched on October 9 at the newly redesigned Diesel Sandton City store in Johannesburg. The release coincided with the store’s official opening celebration, giving fashion enthusiasts an opportunity to experience the collaboration as the luxury fashion brand unveiled its refreshed retail space.

The collection reflects a meeting of Diesel’s bold design identity and Daliwonga’s individuality as one of the recognisable names in South Africa’s Amapiano scene. By extending their partnership beyond brand ambassadorship into a dedicated capsule collection, the two bring the artist’s identity closer to the fashion label’s creative vision.

The 10-piece range features a selection of graphic T-shirts and long-sleeve styles, denim, sweats, outerwear, a cap and the S-D-Ollie Low sneaker. The pieces combine statement graphics with more understated details, offering different ways for consumers to incorporate the collaboration into their wardrobes.

A recurring mouth and grill motif serves as the collection’s central visual feature. The design appears in vivid graphics across T-shirts and outerwear, while more subtle applications can be found on denim and sweats. The motif also appears beneath the distressed brim of the cap, extending the collection’s visual identity across different pieces.

Daliwonga’s handwritten signature adds a personal element to the range, appearing on apparel and the S-D-Ollie Low sneaker. These details help connect the artist’s identity with Diesel’s emphasis on individuality and self-expression, giving the collaboration a distinct character beyond the brand’s existing designs.

The partnership also highlights the growing relationship between South Africa’s music and fashion industries. Amapiano artists increasingly influence style and popular culture, making collaborations with international fashion brands an opportunity to connect music audiences with contemporary fashion.

For Daliwonga, the capsule collection represents another milestone in his relationship with Diesel, which began with his appointment as the brand’s South African ambassador in 2024. The launch gives that partnership a tangible creative expression through a collection carrying his signature and visual identity.

Following its exclusive launch at Diesel Sandton City on October 9, the Diesel x Daliwonga capsule collection became available at Diesel stores across South Africa and online at diesel.co.za from October 10.

With its combination of statement graphics, everyday staples and personalised details, the collection brings together two creative worlds in a collaboration designed to celebrate individuality and contemporary South African culture.
