South African Amapiano artists Benny Maverick, Triple X Da Ghost and Effected have officially released their collaborative EP, WAV. SZN, bringing fans a four-track project that blends soulful melodies, infectious rhythms and bass-driven production. Released on 9 October 2026 through Sun Dance Music and distributed by Africori Music Group, the project arrives as the artists continue to strengthen their creative partnership.
The EP explores different sides of the Amapiano sound, moving between romantic melodies and energetic records designed for dancefloors. With four tracks, the release offers a focused listening experience that caters to fans looking for both laid-back grooves and music suited to lively gatherings.
Opening the project is “Matandana Wami,” featuring DVSLE and Njelic. The track leans into the softer, more melodic side of Amapiano while retaining the rhythmic elements that make the genre appealing to dancers. Njelic’s involvement further adds to the anticipation surrounding the collaborative offering.
Another highlight is “WAV. 2,” featuring Njelic and Leehleza. The song has been attracting attention through social media and DJ sets, with its dramatic pause emerging as a memorable feature. That moment creates an element of surprise, making the track particularly suited to audiences who enjoy records that build anticipation before bringing the rhythm back.
The project also includes “Yebo” and “WAV. 5,” completing the four-track collection. Together, the songs showcase the collaborators’ approach to balancing melody, rhythm and bass-heavy production while offering different listening experiences, from relaxed road trips to club sessions and summer gatherings.
The release builds on an established working relationship between Benny Maverick, Triple X Da Ghost and Effected. The trio have previously collaborated on tracks such as “Uweee” and “iChampagne,” featuring the Kweyama Brothers. In late 2025, they also contributed to Ghost House as part of the VALENCIA project, extending their shared catalogue under the Sun Dance Music imprint.
For Benny Maverick, whose real name is Philani Kweyama, WAV. SZN adds another chapter to a career spanning South Africa’s house music scene since 2008. The Durban-born DJ, producer, songwriter and entrepreneur is also known for establishing the Goodsundae brand, releasing the 2017 hit “Memeza” and forming the Kweyama Brothers duo in 2021. His recent work includes his debut solo album, VALENCIA.
Meanwhile, Triple X Da Ghost and Effected continue to develop their identities through Amapiano and Afro House, with bass-driven production playing a central role in their sound.
With WAV. SZN now available on digital streaming platforms, the three artists deliver another collaborative release that adds to their growing catalogue as the summer season approaches.
