Nadia Nakai and TOSS have officially released their highly anticipated joint EP, Do’s and Dont’s, bringing together two artists whose musical connection has continued to attract attention over the past year.
The six-track project features an exciting line-up of South African talent, including Nkosazana Daughter, Sino Msolo and Sizwe Alakine. The EP sees Nadia Nakai and TOSS explore different sounds while showcasing the chemistry that has developed between the two artists.
Do’s and Dont’s features six tracks: “Ben’thini,” “Choose Me” featuring Sino Msolo, “Toxic,” “Blind!” featuring Nkosazana Daughter, “Chomi” featuring Sino Msolo and Sizwe Alakine, and “Gets Getsa.”
The project brings together elements of Amapiano and contemporary South African music, with each track adding a different flavour to the six-song collection. The guest appearances also give the EP an added dimension while keeping the focus on the collaboration between Nadia Nakai and TOSS.
The pair’s connection first gained significant attention through TOSS’ “Uyang’hlanyisa,” featuring TMan Xpress, 9umba and Sbu YDN. Nadia Nakai appeared in the music video for the song, where she and TOSS shared a kiss. The moment quickly caught the attention of fans online and fuelled speculation about their relationship.
Their connection continued to make headlines as they were spotted together at different events and occasions. What began as a friendship and growing public connection eventually developed into a musical partnership, culminating in their joint EP.
The announcement of Do’s and Dont’s further confirmed that the pair were taking their collaboration into the studio. Nadia Nakai and TOSS unveiled the project’s title, artwork and tracklist ahead of its release, building anticipation among their respective fan bases.
Nkosazana Daughter makes her appearance on “Blind!”, while Sino Msolo features on both “Choose Me” and “Chomi.” Sizwe Alakine also joins the pair on “Chomi,” adding another layer to the collaborative offering.
