South African singer, songwriter and DJ Baby S.O.N has continued the rollout of his highly anticipated upcoming album, Heartbreak & Logdrums, with the release of his latest single, “Ngixolele.” Released today, September 9, 2026, the emotional Amapiano record brings together Baby S.O.N with heavyweight collaborators DJ Maphorisa, Xduppy and Yumbs.
“Ngixolele,” which translates to “Forgive Me,” places emotion and vulnerability at the centre of the song. Through its title and subject matter, the single presents an intimate plea for forgiveness while maintaining the Amapiano sound that has become closely associated with Baby S.O.N’s artistry.
The release arrives just days before the full album, giving listeners another glimpse into the world Baby S.O.N is creating with Heartbreak & Logdrums. The artist previously revealed that he would release three singles ahead of the album, allowing fans to experience different elements of the project before its official arrival.
Sharing his excitement about the upcoming body of work, Baby S.O.N wrote, “Welcome to the dark side, HEARTBREAK & LOGDRUMS ❤️🩹 2026. Super excited about this upcoming album 💿 It’s never Easy putting yourself out there as an artist but it just feels right at the moment, so let’s feast…”
His statement reflects the deeply personal nature of the project, which explores themes of love, loss, vulnerability, heartbreak, nostalgia and healing. With “Ngixolele,” Baby S.O.N continues to put heartfelt storytelling at the forefront of his music.
The single serves as the third release from Heartbreak & Logdrums, following “Nguwe,” featuring Dooushii with Carter IV and Moholo, and “Phone Yam,” which features Stixx and Nvcho. Together, the three singles have started to paint a picture of what fans can expect when the album arrives in full on September 16.
The project is being released through the L.O.V.E. imprint and distributed worldwide by Africori. Baby S.O.N has also shared content connected to “Ngixolele,” although the visual currently circulating alongside the release is not the official music video.
Baby S.O.N has steadily established himself as a vocalist and songwriter, including his contribution to Kamo Mphela’s recognised Amapiano hit “Dalie.” His musical upbringing was influenced by a family deeply connected to singing, with grandparents, cousins and sisters involved in music.
Following the release of his 10-track debut album Baby Who? in 2024, Baby S.O.N has continued developing his sound. Now, with “Ngixolele” officially out, fans have received another emotional piece of the story ahead of Heartbreak & Logdrums.
