DJ Maphorisa Set To Submit Amapiano Album For Grammy Consideration

DJ Maphorisa Set To Submit Amapiano Album For Grammy Consideration. Amapiano pioneer DJ Maphorisa has since been making big moves in the music industry. He is one of the versatile music producers who revolutionalised the sound of amapiano to sound the way it does today. He has been toping charts with his smash hits, and releasing top chatting tracks. Despite how long the amapiano sub-genre will be in the scene, DJ Maphorisa has definitely made a mark. He also helped in introducing amapiano internationally.

DJ Maphorisa has considering submitting an amapiano album ‘Rumble In The Jungle’ for a Grammy considering under a brand new Best Global Performance category. This comes after an international lover of amapiano songs, who is also the Global Music Manager at the Recording Academy commended the Scorpion Kings work with TRESOR on ‘Rumble In The Jungle’ album. The man named Marlon Creative advised them to submit for the next Grammy. It was not long ago after DJ Maphorisa said he believes amapiano are heading to the GRAMMYs. Amapiano, a music genre created in South Africa has become the biggest current sound to come out of South Africa to the world. DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small teamed up with Congolese-born Afro-pop maverick Tresor in hopes to grow the amapiano sound across Africa with an amapiano joint offering. On the day the album was released, amapiano music lovers were excited to finally hear what the trio have came up with. To a surprise, the album was also being streamed in the US, on the top 50 chart. DJ Maphorisa was excited to see the album’s achievement, taking to social media, he wrote that amapiano will soon be recognised at the Grammys. “Amapiano to the Grammys,” the amapiano pioneer wrote.

Following the success of the 63rd Grammy Awards that took place on March 14 2021; amapiano was trending on social media, as some South African music lovers were saying that Amapiano’s hits deserve a Grammy too.
