The organizers of Rose Sunday Picnic have publicly called out celebrated Amapiano producer Kelvin Momo for failing to honor a booking for their end-of-year party on December 8, 2024, despite reportedly receiving his full booking fee well in advance.
The annual event, which featured an impressive lineup including Dinho, Tycoon, and Junior Deep, was highly anticipated by fans. Kelvin Momo, one of the marquee names on the roster, was scheduled to perform between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM. However, the crowd was left disappointed as the artist failed to show up, leaving the event organizers scrambling for answers.
According to a statement released by Rose Sunday Picnic, Kelvin Momo’s management repeatedly assured them throughout the evening that the artist was on his way, leading them to hold out hope until 9:00 PM. At that point, it became clear that he would not be attending, and the organizers had to proceed without his performance.
“Unfortunately, we were disappointed that Kelvin Momo, who was booked to perform, did not honor his commitment to our event despite receiving his full booking fee four weeks in advance. Regrettably, Kelvin Momo’s management team kept us informed that he would be arriving, giving us false hope until the very last minute,” read the official statement from Rose Sunday Picnic.
The organizers have since reached out to Kelvin Momo’s team to request an explanation and discuss a potential refund. As of now, there has been no response from the artist or his management.
This incident highlights an ongoing challenge in the entertainment industry, where miscommunications and unfulfilled commitments can tarnish the trust between artists, event organizers, and fans. Kelvin Momo’s no-show comes as a blow to the reputation of an artist known for his contributions to the Amapiano genre.
As the situation unfolds, all eyes remain on Kelvin Momo’s team for a resolution. For now, Rose Sunday Picnic has promised to take measures to prevent similar issues in the future, ensuring their events remain enjoyable and stress-free for attendees.
