Mawhoo and Her Sister Noxolo Ngema Part Ways

KZN-born singing sensation Mawhoo, real name Thandeka Nontobeko Ngema, has reportedly fallen out with her sister, Noxolo Ngema, who was previously her manager. The two, once inseparable, are now no longer on speaking terms following a series of personal and professional disagreements.

The rift began while the sisters were living together in an apartment in the north of Johannesburg as Mawhoo awaited the completion of her new home. According to a close source, things took a turn for the worse when tensions around Noxolo’s role as Mawhoo’s manager started to emerge.

“Mawhoo has always been about empowering her family and giving them opportunities in her businesses,” the source told ZiMoja. “But things went sour when Noxolo became too comfortable in her position. She started missing gigs and declining bookings that Mawhoo had already accepted. It created major issues.”

The insider further revealed that Noxolo’s ambitions as a singer may have contributed to the fallout. Noxolo, who featured alongside Mawhoo, Visca, and DJ Maphorisa on the track Impilo last year, reportedly struggled to balance her role as a manager while pursuing her own career. “When your manager also wants to be a star, it becomes complicated. Sometimes Noxolo behaved more like a celebrity than someone managing the brand,” said the source.

Mawhoo has since confirmed the split, though she refrained from sharing too many details about the fallout. “Unfortunately, we are no longer working together, but we are family,” she stated.

The split has reportedly caused significant tension within the family, as the sisters’ professional and personal lives were closely intertwined. Noxolo, who handled bookings, contracts, and brand-related administration for Mawhoo, has yet to comment on the matter.
