Uncle Waffles Single ‘Tanzania Certified 4 Times Platinum. Lungelihle Zwane, more commonly known as the DJ/producer Uncle Waffles has been doing well representing the amapiano genre globally. Since shooting to international stardom following a viral clip late last year, Zwane has since performed at a string of sold-out shows—at home and, more recently, here in the UK—and is here to prove that she is more than just an internet sensation. With a laser focus on building her brand, and with all eyes currently on Amapiano, the woman who describes herself as ‘awkward’ is intent on doing things her own way.

Uncle Waffles has announced that her single, Tanzania has been certified 4 times platinum. The DJ shared a photo of the plaque received from AfriCori Music Group after the song sold 80 000 units. Waffles acknowledged her fans who made the achievement possible.

On Wednesday, the 22-year-old announced the release of her first music video, which is for the aforementioned hit single. The video has been highly applauded by fans, and she expressed gratitude after it was premiered on YouTube.“Being a creative has been such a vulnerable thing but I’m truly grateful to be able to put out work. My first baby is officially out,” she said.

Yesterday, she dropped her first-ever music video for her hit single Tanzania taken from her EP Red Dragon. The videohas dropped just over six months after the release of the four-track EP.Taking to social media, Uncle Waffles shared the exciting news about her music video being out.

Her claim to fame was when she was seen dancing to Young Stunna’s hit song Adiwele. Her journey since has prospering upward. The 22-year-old has also joined United Kingdom-based radio station BBC Radio 1 as a host. This despite a fair share of backlash from social media for wearing a G-string while performing and “taking ownership” of Adiwele.
