The wait is finally over! Xduppy, Sleazy and Optimist Music ZA have joined forces for Umswenko 2.0, a seven-track project that arrives with the kind of high-energy Amapiano sound guaranteed to get dancefloors moving. After building anticipation around the release, the trio has delivered a collaborative offering that gives fans plenty of reasons to turn up the volume.
As the festive season approaches, music lovers are on the lookout for productions that bring instant energy, infectious rhythms and irresistible melodies. Umswenko 2.0 aims to deliver exactly that, with the three producers combining their musical strengths to create a collection packed with vibrant instrumentation, catchy vocals and dancefloor-ready sounds.
The project brings together Xduppy’s production approach, Sleazy’s contribution to the Amapiano sound and Optimist Music ZA’s distinctive musical flavour. Across its seven tracks, the collaborators explore the energetic side of the genre, offering listeners a body of work suited to parties, road trips and the upcoming festive celebrations.
For Xduppy, Umswenko 2.0 also represents an extension of a project that already has a history in the Amapiano scene. The first instalment, Umswenko, arrived in 2024 through a collaboration between Xduppy, Scotts Maphuma and Mellow & Sleazy.
The original eight-track project introduced listeners to several memorable records, including “Sheshisa”, featuring CowBoii, LastBornDiroba and Felo Le Tee. Other standout collaborations included “Khuthuzile”, which brought together DJ Maphorisa, Pushkin and Kabelo Sings, as well as “Makubenjalo”, featuring CowBoii.
Two years later, Xduppy has decided to revisit the concept with a fresh collaborative direction. This time, he brings Sleazy back into the fold while introducing Optimist Music ZA as a new addition to the project. Mellow is absent from this latest instalment, giving the sequel its own identity and creative direction.
The decision to continue the Umswenko series shows Xduppy’s interest in building on an established musical concept while allowing new collaborations to shape its sound. With Sleazy returning and Optimist Music ZA joining the lineup, the project offers a different combination of creative influences.
Seven tracks in, Umswenko 2.0 arrives as another addition to the growing catalogue of Amapiano releases preparing to soundtrack the festive season. Its energetic production and collaborative spirit make it a project worth checking out for fans of the genre.
The Umswenko movement continues, and Xduppy, Sleazy and Optimist Music ZA have officially delivered the next chapter.
