Global Amapiano superstar Uncle Waffles is stepping into a new chapter of her career as the Executive Producer of Mix It Up Vol.4, the upcoming EP from BFM Records, the label arm of South African non-profit Bridges For Music.
This announcement follows Uncle Waffles’ electrifying performance on the Ubuntu Stage at EDC Las Vegas 2024, where she proudly represented South Africa at one of the world’s biggest dance music festivals. The moment not only elevated Amapiano on the global stage but also strengthened her ties with Bridges For Music—who have now entrusted her with leading one of their most ambitious projects yet.
As Executive Producer, Uncle Waffles has curated the lineup, selected the producers, and guided the creative direction, blending the authenticity of African soundscapes with a global spirit of collaboration. The EP features heavyweight names like Ghetts, Fave, and Chy Cartier, alongside South Africa’s rising stars Royal MusiQ, TK Creedlion, Ice Beats Slide, Sbuda Maleather, and Makhanj.
Now in its fourth edition, Mix It Up has grown into more than just an EP series—it’s a cultural movement. Through its innovative collaborations, Bridges For Music has consistently built bridges between grassroots African talent and international icons. From taking township-born artists like Athie Umgido and Rudy Julius to stages in Poland, Thailand, and Amsterdam, to powering the Ubuntu Stage at global festivals, the initiative continues to prove that music is a universal passport.
For Uncle Waffles, this project is about more than music. “Mix It Up has always been about bringing the world to Africa and taking Africa to the world. I’m honoured to play a part in shaping that journey,” she says.
Mix It Up Vol.4 drops 19 September 2025, promising infectious rhythms, boundary-breaking collaborations, and a bold showcase of Africa’s global sound.
