South African producer and visionary artist Thakzin has unveiled his long-awaited debut album, Gods Window Pt.1, released on 26 September 2025. Across 18 tracks, the project takes listeners on a spiritual and cultural journey that honours the past, embraces the present, and boldly imagines the future. Here’s what you need to know:
1. A Symbolic Offering
Gods Window Pt.1 is more than an album—it’s a ceremonial offering, meditative, ecstatic, and inquisitive.
2. Inspired by a Landmark
The album echoes the panoramic beauty of South Africa’s God’s Window, symbolising the third eye, ancestral vision, and spiritual insight.
3. A “No-Skip” Experience
Thakzin designed the album to be listened to in full, like a Sunday course meal—layered, rich, and nourishing.
4. Past, Present, Future
The album unfolds in three thematic parts:
- Past: Honours African rhythms and cultural legacy.
- Present: Reflects Thakzin’s personal evolution and sonic experimentation.
- Future: Imagines new sounds through 3Step and global African creativity.
5. Unity Through Music
The project embodies the power of collaboration, exchange, and togetherness, proving that collective voices create something greater than the sum of their parts.
6. The 3Step Philosophy
Thakzin pioneered 3Step, an organic hybrid of Afro House, Amapiano, and Afro-Electronic energy—a movement and state of mind born from trust in intuition and sonic honesty.
7. Global Creativity
Recorded across Johannesburg, Cape Town, and international cities, the album reflects a truly global and collaborative approach.
8. Collaborators as Co-Creators
Every featured artist contributes as a co-creator rather than a guest feature, weaving their stories into the album’s narrative.
9. Notable Collaborators
The album includes contributions from Thandazo, Suffocate SA, Mörda, Xelimpilo, Sykes, Lyrik Shoxen, Xolani Guitars, Mhaw Keys, Leko M, Mpho WAV, Atmos Blaq, Citizen Deep, Tete, Baby S.O.N, Divine Keys, Jinger Stone, Mo-T, Mas Musiq, Mzizi, Sun-EL Musician, Mici, Mankabosane Cultural Group, and Jordan Moozy.

12. Thakzin’s Vision

13. Musical Philosophy
3Step is not a rigid genre but a creative philosophy—a fusion of multiplicity, authenticity, and experimental freedom.
14. Pandemic-Born Inspiration
