The Scorpion Kings, Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, have released their latest joint album Kings Will Rise — a powerful statement of amapiano’s global dominance — just as they prepare for one of the biggest concerts in South African history at Loftus Stadium.

The timing couldn’t be more fitting. With over 50,000 fans expected to fill the stadium, the show is set to transform Loftus into the epicenter of amapiano culture, solidifying Kabza and Phori’s reign as cultural leaders on the world stage.

The new album is a masterclass in collaboration, featuring some of the biggest voices in South African and African music. From the soulful iLanga (feat. Phila Dlozi) and street-ready Bafo (feat. Njelic & Tman Xpress) to the historic Matswale (Scorpion Kings Remix) featuring Caiphus Semenya, the project blends amapiano innovation with South Africa’s musical legacy.

The standout moment comes with Biri Marung (Remix), a pan-African anthem featuring Davido, Focalistic, Mr Pilato, Ego Slimflow, Tebogo G Mashego, and Scotts Maphuma — a track that cements amapiano’s global reach while showcasing the Scorpion Kings’ ability to unite diverse talents under one rhythm.

As the title suggests, Kings Will Rise is not just an album — it’s a declaration that Kabza and Phori remain the crown bearers of amapiano, constantly reinventing the genre while elevating those around them.

Hot on the heels of the album release, the Scorpion Kings are set to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle at Loftus Stadium. The main stage will feature a powerhouse lineup, including Davido, Mafikizolo, Uhuru, Oskido, Ami Faku, Msaki, Mlindo The Vocalist, Njelic, and Makhadzi — who joins as a late but highly anticipated addition.

Before the main event, fans will warm up to a high-energy pre-show hosted by Nobantu Vilakazi and Leeart, showcasing a new wave of talent including DBN Gogo, Dlala Thukzin, 25k, Vinny Da Vinci, Christos, Ba Bethe Ga Shoazen, Venom, Blxckie, and Banques. The pre-show promises to have the stadium already shaking before Kabza and Phori even touch the decks.

Between Kings Will Rise and the Loftus mega-show, Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa are making it clear: amapiano is not just South Africa’s sound — it’s Africa’s gift to the world. The combination of a groundbreaking album and a record-setting live performance positions the Scorpion Kings at the heart of a cultural movement that’s rewriting the rules of global music.

As thousands gather at Loftus and millions stream the new album worldwide, one message rings out loud: the kings have risen — and they’re not stepping down any time soon.
