Multifaceted Amapiano hitmaker, DJ, business mogul and podcaster Mr JazziQ teams up with rising star Leerosoul to bring a new single titled ‘David’. The release of David follows the success of the second offering of the All You Need Is Piano series, All You Need Is Piano II, setting dancefloors ablaze with hits such as Hamba Naye and Baya Hlanya.
David is set to be released on the 22nd the March 24. Co-produced by Mr JazziQ, the song was the brainchild of Kwa Thema born rising star, LeeroSoul who is the hit maker behind Nazoke alongside Zan’Ten, Jandas, EeQue & Mr JazziQ. The song’s production elements borrow from Kwaito, Chants of Moza and the slick hood story telling Leerosoul has brought into the genre of Amapiano. “The song also picks on our parent’s English names and how every adult in the township usually refers to their peers in their English names ‘David, Elsie, Elizabeth and John’.”

The pair share their experience on how working together was, Mr JazziQ shares; “LeeroSoul is one of my favourite current producer’s because he understands the roots of SA music and always tries to pay homage to genre’s such as Deephouse and Kwaito. I am sure he is about to take the world by storm and can’t wait for you to hear what else we have been working on.” LeerSoul adds; “I am so excited to be working with one of my idols, I am childhood friends with people like Jandas and Eeque whose careers started at BIB and seeing them shine like this, inspires me to work harder on my craft. My biggest songs currently are uJohn uBabakho, Nazoke and I believe DAVID is about to be another hit featuring Leersoul”.
“Amapiano is currently going through a change and different sub genres are popping up every day and some songs live digitally and some songs live on traditional platforms like groove, with David we wanted to create a song that would try sit in all these pockets and genres including TikTok, radio and something to make people go crazy in the club.” Mr JazziQ shares what he hopes audiences take away from David.
