The time has officially come for South African youth to get a 360 immersive experience through the YouthX movement powered by Nedbank.

The highly anticipated annual YouthX festival, hosted by award-winning TikTok star, Primo, and multi-faceted Anele ‘Ney The Bae’ Zondo, will welcome some of South Africa’s biggest stars to the stage at the illustrious Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg on 18 November 2023.

YX23 transcends the boundaries of a mere ceremony – it symbolises the strength of youth, innovation, and creativity. The festival is dedicated to inspiring, empowering, and celebrating excellence and the outstanding accomplishments of South African youth.

‘Nedbank is proud to host the YX23 festival, which aligns with its commitment to youth empowerment and financial education. YouthX enables us to amplify the voices of South Africa’s youth and drive positive change. We believe in the unlimited potential of the nation’s future leaders, and we are excited to support their journey,’ says Khensani Nobanda, Executive of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Nedbank.

Adding to the grandeur of the celebration, YouthX has set the stage with an electrifying line-up including Nasty C, Uncle Waffles, Cassper Nyovest, Kamo Mphela, Dlala Thukzin, Young Stunna and Kabza De Small. Joining the line-up is the multi-talented South African entrepreneur, artist, actress and television presenter, Candice Modiselle, who will be delivering the keynote address on the day.

As one of 6 finalists in the ‘2012 Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) | Dramatic, Artistic and Literary Rights Organisation (DALRO) | Nedbank Scholarships Programme’, designed to provide financial support and recognition to young and aspiring artists and performers in South Africa,

Candice has had a long standing relationship with Nedbank and has always been passionate about the creative industry.

Candice, who also forms part of an esteemed judging panel for the YouthX Awards, will be identifying the top-10 young South Africans who will be awarded the resources to unlock their full potential. This year the YouthX Awards will honour the remarkable achievements of those who are sparking positive change within their communities.

YouthX ambassador, NastyC, is also thrilled to be part of the YX23 festival. ‘It’s an event that truly celebrates the creativity and excellence of South African youth. It’s much more than just a festival – it’s a symbol of our strength and innovation, and I can’t wait to join my fellow artists on stage and share our passion with the audience.’

Over the past 2 years, YouthX has garnered wide acclaim, showcasing the unwavering determination and drive of South African youth in their pursuit of reaching goals and transforming communities towards a brighter future.

YouthX is a movement dedicated to empowering and celebrating the potential of South African youth. Its purpose is to inspire, support, and recognise young individuals as they lead the way towards positive change.

‘YX23 is not just another festival; it’s a movement that empowers and inspires the youth. It’s an honour to be a part of this event, and I’m looking forward to delivering an unforgettable performance that resonates with the audience’s energy and enthusiasm,’ says Uncle Waffles, YouthX ambassador.

YX23 has also partnered with 8 innovative entrepreneurs who represent the vibrant landscape of South African small businesses. They will be at YX23 showcasing their exceptional products and services and adding to the festival’s dynamic atmosphere. Other visionary entrepreneurs include Sleett Jewellery; Oluhle Organics; streetwear brand Urban Skripal; Creative Noodles; female-owned clothing brand Money Talk Clothing; Ehs.Swimwear, Easy.ink semi-permanent and permanent tattoos; and Monosi Sneakers.
