Ch’cco Opens Up About His First Hip Hop Project Titled ‘Ch’cco’s Duo’.Being a native of the proud streets of Mamelodi in Pretoria and Pimville in Johannesburg, South Africa, has given him a dualism unmatched by any other, articulated inflows that recall the hectic metropolis of Johannesburg or the peaceful, community-like vibe of Pretoria.

Ch’cco has already demonstrated that his steadfast desire to create genre-defining music will propel him to greater heights in the music industry as a whole. What many may not know about him is that his first ever Spotify release was a Hip-hop projec titled Ch’cco’s duo.

“Ch’cco’s duo”! One of my favorite releases. At the time I was listening to… obviously, “Impractical” had that Afrobeats, that Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido feel. The powerhouse, the Nigerian giants. Yemi Alade was also there, Tiwa Savage was also there… it’s a long list. And then as far as hip-hop was concerned, we listened to a lot of local hip-hop, of course heavily influenced by American hip-hop here and there, but mostly AKA (supamega!), Riky Rick, Cassper Nyovest, Emtee, Nasty C, A-Reece, Shane Eagle… The list goes on.”

But I think bacardi is by far one of the most important genres, as far as its influence is concerned in me and amapiano. Also kwaito. But yea, Mamphoza, Makhabacity Productions, Enny Man… The list goes on. It had a very significant impact in my life,” he told PAM.

Ch’cco has already cemented his reputation in the minds and hearts of people all throughout Africa. He is keener and keener to demonstrate that his path will be paved in the manner that best suits him.
