As the song continues to trend, one American Tik Toker took to the platform warning other users against the song suggesting the lyrics are evil. She revealed how she had felt in her spirit that something about the song’s lyrics wasn’t right so she used google translate to learn the meaning of the song.
“Be careful what you listen to in other languages cause you don’t know what they are saying. I’ve been seeing this song by ‘Mnike’ by Tyler ICU, I was listening to it yesterday and my spirit just went really funny so I just looked up the words. I don’t know if you guys are seeing this by I know what I’m seeing. I believe there’s life and death in the power of the tongue. The power of what you say is more powerful than you know so I caution everybody please be mindful,” she said.
Well, South Africans came for her both on twitter and Tik Tok calling her out for misinforming people and trusting google translate. The Tik Toker ended up apologizing saying, “First I want to say I have the wrong translation, I’m so sorry to the South African community. The last thing I want to do is spread misinformation, I like South African music, I should have done more research that what I was saying was true before posting it.”
