JazziQ Reveals He Didn’t Leave JazziDisciples. JazziDisciples were an amapiano DJ and producer duo originating from South Africa. They were composed of two record producers known by their stage names Mr JazziQ and Josiah De Disciple
A tweet making rounds on social media suggested that women make men leave their music groups. Making an example of rapp3r Offset who left Migos, while Cardi B was blamed for it. The tweet also made an example of Bongz who allegedly left Black Motion duo, while DJ Zinhle caught the stray. JazziQ it supported the statement saying women are to blame, and that’s when Lady Du questioned if it was a woman who made him leave JazziDisciples. In his response, JazziQ said he did not leave JazziDisciples and that Josiah was the one who did, and that he is the only member of JazziDisciples.
The music duo, who glued their names Mr JazziQ and Josiah De Disciple to join forces in 2017, are now working on their solo EP’s to build their individual brand names. JazziQ, real name Tumelo Manyani, then launched launched his solo 0303 EP which features Askies – a single that had fans dancing, even in the comfort of their homes during the Covid-19 pandemic. The release of his solo project raised questions if the group was separating, but JazziQ said it was an agreement from both to release individual music projects.
Upon announcing the split, JazziQ said: “We decided to move from JazziDisciples mainly because we did not want to be glued together as we both believe that we have the potential to grow as individuals, being a duo has taught us both new and entertaining ways to do music, I am grateful for that.”
“Our journey has been bumpy and tricky because we had to fight for recognition while playing a genre that was still new to the ears of many but it is undoubtedly one of the best genres in the country, mainly because it’s brewed here,” he added.
