The townships around Pretoria (or greater Pitori area) have produced some of the most recognisable Amapiano songs and artists over the past five years. Most recently, a crop of producers has developed a recognisably Pitori variant of Piano that is gaining recognition.
The Amapiano star has bought himself a brand new car. Shaun 101 took to social media to show off his new red Mercedes Benz whip from the dealership with the car keys being handed over to him. Check it out:
Shaun Sandile Masuku, known by his stage name Shaun 101 is a 26 year old Amapiano & Dance Music DJ, music compiler and producer that hails from Soweto. He is the resident DJ and plays the closing set at Sweet Mondays, a weekly dance event dubbed ‘the home of Amapiano” – Orlando, Soweto.
He started his DJ-ing in 2008, while studying Sound Engineering & Radio at Boston Media House. He works closely and collaboratively with Amapiano pioneer DJs and Producers.He’s shared stages with industry greats such as Ralf Gum, DJ Fresh, DJ Tira and PH, to name a few. He is one of the stars behind popular amapiano song ‘uThando’ featuring Soa Matrix and Soulful G.
