Fans Unhappy With Maphorisa After He Asked Them To Calculate His Expensive Outfit. Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe is a South African record producer, vocalist, and disk jockey. However, Themba operates on an international level, while still employing afro-pop and house music styles. This disk jockey is recognized for his collaborations with international artists. He has collaborated with the likes of Kwesta, Uhuru, Wizkid, and even the American superstar, Drake. It was his collaborations with artists like these that rose him to stardom.

DJ Maphorisa found himself in hot water with his fans after asking them to calculate the outfit and pieces of jewellery he rocked in a photo shared on Twitter. The amapiano producer, DJ and vocalist gravitate to high fashion, which is blatantly evident in his daily wear.

In the photo shared, Maphorisa is seen carrying a Birkin bag which costs over $200k; he wore a Gucci jacket, belt, diamond-studded watches, and neck chain – The DJ covers himself with millions. “Can someone calculate this outfit I wanna see something,” he captioned the photo.

You are one Person who can wear a Million Rand outfit and still make it seem like it's R120. Bro you can go to school, but you can't buy Class. pic.twitter.com/esyCeLAcgs

Black celebrities never learn. 10 years from now you'll be begging for handouts like so many. This materialism won't help you when you're down and broke.

Smart people always know what to say but the wise ones knows whether to say it or not, you were smart when it came to making money moves but not wise enough to understand the importance of money, no wonder o botsisa batho masepa like this pic.twitter.com/lW0rQa8OjF

DJ Maphorisa began his music career in 2008 after joining a South African music group known as “Uhuru”. It was under this group that he released his first single. However, it wasn’t until he co-released his first hit track under the Uhuru group; Mafikizolo’s Khona, before he became widely recognized.

He said that Mjakes from Kalawa Jazmee gave him his big break and told him that he had talent that needed to be nurtured. He shares that his love for Amapiano was influenced by his travels. “I’ve travelled to different countries and got to experience different beats and dances. That has helped with my music.”

But DJ Maphorisa, who is at the height of his career, is not without controversy. He believes that some of his industry peers are jealous of him. “I think they are jealous of me because they stick to one thing and I’m all about diversity. It makes them mad that I’m a versatile artist,” he says.
