Watch! Zahara Explains The Video Of Herself In Studio Singing Amapiano. Bulelwa Mkutukana best known by her stage name Zahara, is a South African singer-songwriter. Having signed a record deal with TS Records, her debut album Loliwe (2011), which went double platinum. Her second album Phendula (2013), produced three chart-topping singles namely “Phendula”, “Impilo”, “Stay”. Now, with the polarity of amapiano, Zahara has shown an interest in the genre.

Zahara had made tweeps scratch their heads wondering if she is the next artist to dump their genre to join the hottest genre at the moment being amapiano. This comes after a video of Zahara in studio singing amapiano had gone viral, while some were questioning the song itself. However, Zahara has shared some light on the video explaining that it is not an actual song and she was just playing around with it. “This was not an actual song, surely you guys know that right? Ndidlale phi kanti (laughing emojies),” she wrote. Check it out:

This was long before the star was trending for a reportedly drunk Performance. A video had gone viral on Twitter showing Award-winning South African singer Zahara performing. In the short video, the singer sings her hit single, ‘Ndiza’, but she sounds off key. Many Tweeps who have watched the video says she sounds drunk and believe the star needs to get help.

Zahara’s career has been marred by allegations of alcohol abuse, but the singer has denied that she has a problem. In an interview with Podcast and Chill with MacG, the ‘Loliwe’ hitmaker said she drinks occasionally and it is no one’s business what she does behind close doors. She said she started drinking at the age of 24 at a party. Although she says she didn’t enjoy the alcohol, she loved how it made her feel free.

In 2017, the star threatened to sue Somizi after he spoke about Zahara and her alleged alcohol problem. Somizi said during the SAMA awards: ““We are almost at the end of the show and there’s an amazing after party, free bar…where is Zahara ( audience roars in laughter). She’s probably at the bar already.

Zahara said she was going to sue “Somizi and the SAMAs for defamation of character.”
