Lady Du Announces Collaboration With Nigerian Artist. Lady Du first learned how to play at the tender age of nine. Since then and during her early adult life, she had been trying to get a successful break into the music industry. Born and raised in Vosloorus, Gauteng, Lady Du has always been sure about the path she wanted to take. Just when she was ready to quit again, she received a call from Tumelo “Mr JassiQ” Manyoni who introduced her to Amapiano music. She made the singles Dabula and Superstar, which launched her career.
Lady Du is currently working on something new for her fans. The star took to social media to share that she has a new song loading with Nigerian artist, Niniola. She shared a snippet of the song on Instagram with a caption: “I Did It…She Did It…We Did It… New 🔥🔥🔥 Niniola x Lady Du Drops On Friday…Don’t Dull. @officialniniola.”
Lady Du’s musical journey speaks to her resilience, and her success can rightfully be attributed to her perseverance. Speaking on amapiano, a genre that she blew up with, Lady Du said she likes the fact that there are no gatekeepers. “We’re literally running the genre as we see fit. Nobody is dictating anything to us! There is none of that old-school way of doing things where you need to know someone in power for your song to be played on radio. At some point, my song was not playing on a particular radio station but now it’s sitting at number one on that very radio station. How amazing?”
