Mpho Sebina On How Her Amapiano Collabo With Major League DJz Changed Her Life. Mpho Sebina, the vocalist behind Major League DJz’s smash hit Dinaledi. She said the song changed her life for the better, especially since she has been making beautiful tunes for a while, but none of them were hits. She revealed that she is still in disbeliefe over how their collaboration happened.

In an interview with Sowetan, Mpho spoke on how the collabo changed her life. “It really has changed my life. It was my first collaboration with artists that are super commercial. It has opened a lot of doors and spaces for me and my music. I think for a while I wanted to box myself in a certain way until last year I decided to experiment. I love amapiano a lot. They (Major League DJz) had tweeted me that they are huge fans of my work and I loved their song Slyza Tsotsi. So, I decided to slide into their DMs saying ‘you like my music, where is the work?’ They sent me the instrumental for Dinaledi and we recorded that song,” she said.

“The response for the song has been more than I expected. I love the song, but I didn’t think the world will love the song this much. The other day a girl sent me a picture and she tattooed the lyrics on her arm. The song is about missing a loved one whether in this lifetime or maybe in another lifetime. Just knowing that the person will forever be with you just like the presence of dinaledi (stars),” Sebina says.

Since Dinaledi dropped last year, many upcoming collaborations have come Sebina’s way. She has also shared the stage with Langa Mavuso and Yallunder. “It was really great because it has been a while since I had performed live. It was also great just talking about our challenges and struggles as artists,” Sebina says.
