South African Amapiano heavyweights DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, collectively known as the Scorpion Kings, are set to share the stage with Jamaican dancehall superstar Sean Paul when he brings his South African tour to Cape Town this December.
The Grammy-winning international artist is scheduled to headline at GrandWest Grand Arena on December 3, 2026, with the Scorpion Kings confirmed as the supporting act for the highly anticipated show. The announcement brings together two musical forces from different corners of the world, promising fans an exciting night of dancehall and Amapiano.
The Cape Town concert forms part of Sean Paul’s three-city South African tour, which will also take him to Pretoria and Durban. Following the GrandWest performance, the Jamaican star is scheduled to perform at SunBet Arena, Time Square, in Pretoria on December 4 before concluding the South African leg at Durban ICC on December 6.
The addition of the Scorpion Kings to the Cape Town lineup adds a distinctly local flavour to the event. DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small have played a significant role in taking Amapiano to wider audiences through their productions, collaborations and live performances.
Their appearance alongside Sean Paul creates an opportunity for fans to experience South African dance music alongside the sounds of an international dancehall icon. Both acts have built strong connections with audiences through music designed to bring people together on dance floors, making the concert an exciting prospect for music lovers.
Event organisers took to Instagram on October 29 to encourage fans to secure their tickets before the shows sell out. The promotional post highlighted the growing demand for the tour and urged concertgoers not to miss the opportunity to attend.
“Don’t be the one watching everyone’s stories wishing you had bought your tickets. Get yours NOW from R750 at blubloodtickets.com,” the organisers wrote.
According to the announcement, tickets for the Cape Town show start at R750 through the official booking platform. The concert is driven by Geely and supported by Blu Blood, Fire Water Earth Productions, SABN, Kfm and GrandWest.
Sean Paul has established himself as one of dancehall’s most recognisable international artists, delivering music that has reached audiences across generations and markets. His South African tour gives local fans another opportunity to experience his catalogue live while introducing a new generation of concertgoers to his energetic performance style.
For the Scorpion Kings, joining the lineup provides another major platform to represent Amapiano in front of a diverse audience.
With the Cape Town date approaching, anticipation is building for a show that brings together Jamaican dancehall and South African Amapiano under one roof. Fans planning to attend can check the official ticketing platform for availability and further event information before December 3.
