South African singer, songwriter, DJ and multiple-platinum-selling artist Baby S.O.N has officially released his long-awaited album, Heartbreak & Logdrums, giving fans a 15-track body of work that blends emotional storytelling, Amapiano and the unmistakable power of log drums.
Released on 16 September 2026, the album arrives after a carefully planned rollout that saw Baby S.O.N introduce listeners to different sides of the project through a series of singles and collaborations.
Reflecting on the release, Baby S.O.N shared a heartfelt message with his supporters, describing the album as a deeply personal body of work.
“This album holds a piece of my heart. I hope it helps you dance, feel, heal and remember that even through heartbreak, there is still something to be grateful for. HEARTBREAK & LOGDRUMS — OUT NOW,” he wrote.
The artist also expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the album, particularly executive producer Yumbs. Baby S.O.N described their journey as one built on friendship, belief and brotherhood, while also thanking his management team and record label for helping bring his vision to life. His wife and children were also acknowledged for their support throughout the creative process.
Across its 15 tracks, Heartbreak & Logdrums features an impressive collection of collaborators from different corners of South African music. The album opens with “Heartbreak & Logdrums” featuring Luvvvstacy, Nanette and Yumbs before moving into “Siza Wena” with Sly and Kabza De Small.
Other songs include “L.O.V.E. BACK” featuring Mr Maker, MusicHlonza and Yumbs, “Khala Njalo” with Thuto The Human, “Phone Yam” featuring Nvcho and Stixx, and “Amantombazane” with D’ Braz.
Baby S.O.N also teams up with Ch’cco and Yumbs on “Ch’cco’s Heart”, while “Soft Life” features Khalil Harrison, Ceeka RSA and Nathaniel. “Nguwe” brings together Dooushii, Carter IV and Moholo, followed by “About You!” with Yumbs and “Q’s Interlude” featuring Miss Q and DoouShii.
The closing stretch includes “Dlala Ngami (It’s Too Late)” with Nvcho and Yumbs, “Ngixolele” featuring DJ Maphorisa, Yumbs and Xduppy, “WHY WHY WHY” with Tycoon and Kelvin Momo, and “Mzala (Joh!)” featuring Thuto The Human, Lloyd Lasoul and Yumbs.
