South African producer Jackson Motla, professionally known as JL SA, has come forward regarding the hit single “Hamba Juba”, claiming that he created the track’s beat entirely from scratch but has yet to receive payment for his work. The situation has intensified, with the controversy now reportedly escalating into a legal matter, as noted in the latest updates from Cici’s Instagram.

“Please fix your statement on your socials and keep me out of this. I never got any money from Hamba Juba but I also signed a split. You know very well who you should be talking to, so you must point the specific ones. I don’t want my career being at stake. Nami ngay’funa leyo mali azange ngiy’thole,” Murumba Pitch SA wrote in private messages that later surfaced on social media, expressing both his frustration over unpaid work and his desire not to be misrepresented.

JL SA responded to clarify his earlier comments, emphasizing that they were not directed at JL SA personally. “Ola bro I didn’t mention anything about you. I simply said I never got money for my work. I have no kwaal with you, brother. I will release another video tomorrow especially to mention the person. We are both victims here, you and I, we good,” he explained, highlighting the broader nature of the dispute.

The controversy has extended beyond the immediate parties involved. Lady Amar took to social media to voice her frustration with fans, questioning why she was being targeted and verbally attacked amidst the ongoing drama. Meanwhile, legal discussions referenced on Cici’s Instagram suggest that formal steps may now be underway to resolve compensation and credit disputes tied to the track.

This situation underscores deeper challenges in South Africa’s music industry, particularly concerning royalties, credits, and fair payment for creative contributions. Multiple contributors to Hamba Juba, including JL SA and Murumba Pitch SA, reportedly have yet to receive proper compensation, illustrating structural issues that continue to affect both producers and artists alike.

For JL SA, the stakes are both professional and personal. By speaking publicly, he aims to protect his reputation and clarify his role in the creation of the song. At the same time, responses from collaborators and social media updates indicate that the controversy is not limited to a single individual but reflects wider systemic concerns about accountability in the local music scene.

As fans and industry observers watch closely, the Hamba Juba dispute serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency, proper crediting, and timely payments. With the situation now involving legal attention and public statements from multiple parties, all eyes are on how the matter will be resolved for the artists, producers, and stakeholders involved.
