Young Stunna Sparks Outrage After Second No-Show in Zimbabwe

South African Amapiano star Young Stunna has landed in hot water once again after failing to appear at a scheduled performance in Zimbabwe, igniting outrage among his disappointed fanbase. The artist was set to headline the Amapiano Explosion event in Harare on 9 August 2025 alongside Zimbabwean-born singer Sha Sha. However, the show took a chaotic turn when news broke that Stunna would not be attending.

According to reports by H-Metro, fans who had gathered at the venue from early in the day erupted in anger upon hearing the news. The situation escalated quickly, with some attendees hurling bottles at the stage and damaging property in protest. The no-show has been widely condemned on social media, with many expressing frustration over what they perceive as a lack of professionalism and respect from the artist.

In a statement released shortly after the event, Young Stunna cited a family emergency as the reason for his absence. “It is with much regret that we announce the postponement of my performances this weekend due to an unforeseen family emergency,” the statement read. “We understand this may have caused great inconvenience for the promoter, sponsors and the fans; therefore, we truly apologise.”

Despite the apology, fans were not appeased. Many took to social media platforms to voice their disappointment, with some calling for the artist to be blacklisted from future events in the country. Critics also pointed out that this is not an isolated incident. In 2023, Young Stunna reportedly failed to show up for the Shorts and Shades event in Bulawayo, which similarly ended in chaos.

While some have urged understanding due to the cited family emergency, others remain skeptical and have demanded greater transparency and accountability. For now, Young Stunna’s reputation in Zimbabwe appears to be hanging by a thread, as many fans question whether he truly values his regional audience.

Whether the artist will make amends with a rescheduled performance or lose favor entirely remains to be seen. But one thing is clear — patience among his Zimbabwean fans is wearing thin.
