Amapiano sensation Lady Du continues to earn recognition for her dedication to music and entrepreneurship — and now, she has received high praise from none other than South Africa’s Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie.

In a heartfelt moment that followed a recent prestigious dinner event, Minister McKenzie took a moment to publicly celebrate Lady Du for her powerful performance, describing her as the “boss of bosses” after she had high-profile guests on their feet dancing — including diplomats, ambassadors, and African Union (AU) representatives.

Lady Du, who recently faced the heartbreak of losing her father, has remained resilient. Just days before her father’s passing, she had launched a new business, showing her unwavering commitment to both her craft and her legacy. The artist, widely known for her hit single “Tjina,” has been balancing her grief with professionalism and strength — a fact that did not go unnoticed by the Minister.

In a video that Lady Du later posted on her social media, Minister Gayton McKenzie is seen showering her with praise, saying:

“This one is a boss of bosses. She had diplomats, ministers, ambassadors, and people from the AU on their feet — no one sat down. She’s the gem of South Africa!”

The touching moment drew emotional responses from her fans and peers in the industry. Many applauded Lady Du not only for her talent but also for her ability to inspire and uplift others during difficult times.

Lady Du, clearly moved by the moment, responded with gratitude on her socials, writing:

“What an honour 🙏🙏🙏 thank you @gaytonmck.”

This public recognition from a high-ranking government official further cements Lady Du’s place as one of the leading women in South African music and culture. Known not only for her musical prowess but also for her entrepreneurship and community advocacy, Lady Du continues to be a beacon of resilience and excellence.
