Tyler ICU, one of the leading names in South Africa’s Amapiano scene, has breathed new life into Mafikizolo’s iconic 2013 hit, Khona. The producer has put his signature Amapiano spin on the classic track, infusing it with contemporary rhythms while keeping the essence of the original alive. The remix is a tribute to the timeless appeal of Khona, which redefined South African music when it was first released over a decade ago.

Tyler ICU teamed up with Khalil Harrison to bring this nostalgic tune back to the airwaves, and the remake features a powerhouse lineup of collaborators, including DJ Maphorisa, Pcee, Tyrone Dee, DJ Exit, Linda Mnisi, Ceeka RSA, and Xelimpilo Simelane. On Sunday, Tyler ICU took to his Instagram to share a teaser of the upcoming track, creating a buzz among fans eager to hear the reimagined version of a song that holds a special place in the hearts of many South Africans.

The preview of the remake has already recieved attention on social media, with fans expressing excitement about the fresh Amapiano twist on the traditional Afrobeat-inspired sound of the original. The blend of deep Amapiano rhythms with the familiar melody of Khona strikes a balance between nostalgia and innovation, appealing to both long-time fans of Mafikizolo and the new generation of Amapiano lovers.
