Oscar Mbo has spoken out following allegations made by Makhadzi concerning her shortened performance at the Bloemfontein Macufe festival. The incident sparked controversy after Makhadzi claimed that her set was abruptly cut short due to interference from Oscar Mbo’s team, which allegedly removed her USB while she was performing. Now, the DJ has responded with his version of events, offering clarifications that have stirred further conversation online.

In a detailed statement, Oscar Mbo provided several points to counter Makhadzi’s claims and explain the circumstances surrounding the incident:

Late Arrival: Oscar Mbo attributed the performance issues to Makhadzi’s late arrival at the festival. He stated that she was scheduled to perform at an earlier time but did not begin her set until 01:45. Oscar noted that he had been present at the venue since 01:00, expecting to perform during his designated time slot. According to him, Makhadzi’s delay resulted in a scheduling conflict that affected his performance.

Time Slot Overlap: The DJ explained that because Makhadzi’s performance ran into his scheduled time, there was an overlap that cut into his set. Oscar claimed that he was only able to perform for ten minutes due to the encroachment on his time, which was initially planned and agreed upon with the event organizers.

Communication with Venue: Oscar emphasized that the time slots for the performances had been confirmed with the event’s promoter and venue management. He said that the issue arose due to changes that occurred on the night of the event, which were beyond his control. This was intended to clarify that the incident was not an intentional act to disrupt Makhadzi’s performance.

Call for Honesty: In his final point, Oscar Mbo urged Makhadzi to be truthful about what happened, asserting that he felt misrepresented by her allegations. He expressed frustration over being blamed for circumstances that he believed were the result of logistical and timing issues rather than any deliberate actions on his part.

The public fallout from the incident has sparked debates on social media, with fans of both artists sharing mixed reactions. While some sympathized with Makhadzi’s frustration, others found Oscar Mbo’s explanation to be a reasonable defense.
