Amapiano artist Stanky Deejay, whose real name is Sizama Vezi Kweyama, recently confirmed that he was involved in a near-fatal car accident on August 12th, 2024. The incident left him with severe injuries that required multiple surgeries and an extended hospital stay.

In a heartfelt statement released on his social media platforms, Stanky Deejay expressed gratitude to everyone who has been supporting him during this challenging time. He wrote, “For immediate release. Thank you to everyone who keeps reaching out. God shall continue to show off in my recovery.”

The artist went on to detail the severity of the accident and his current condition, stating, “I, Sizama Vezi Kweyama, aka Stanky Deejay, wish to confirm that I was involved in a near-fatal car accident on the 12th of August 2024. I wish to inform the public that I’ve undergone surgeries and wish to also inform the public that the doctors have booked me off for the next six weeks to recover fully.”

Stanky Deejay spent three weeks in the hospital recovering from his injuries. He expressed deep appreciation for those who visited him during his hospital stay and for the many messages and prayers he received from fans and well-wishers. He also took the opportunity to apologize to his fans, media, and promoters, explaining that his recovery will require him to take time away from the public eye.

“In respect to my recovery that requires me to attentively take care of myself, I kindly request the media, fans, and promoters to respect the next couple of weeks till I can announce that I am fully recovered and ready to see the world again,” he wrote. He also expressed regret over having to cancel upcoming events, including a European tour that was scheduled to begin in September.

Stanky Deejay is known for his contributions to the Amapiano genre, and his absence from the music scene will undoubtedly be felt by fans and fellow artists alike. However, the most important thing at this time is his health and full recovery.
