Behind The Scenes Of Khuli Chana’s Music Video Of His First Amapiano Song. South African rapper Khuli Chana has officially released his first single of 2021 titled ‘Buyile‘, not only is it a banger but an amapiano joint. The track was produced by amapiano producer Tyler ICU and features Lady Du and Stino Le Thwenny. Khuli Chana returns after two years and taps into the amapiano scene.

The amapiano join will be followed by visuals which will be released soon. Khuli Chana shared behind the scenes footage of the making of his first amapiano music video. The music video features his wife, DJ Lamiez Hollworthy. Taking to social media, Khuli Chana tweeted: “Just got the final video cut of #Buyile. YA BABA!!!! BABING!!!!!’

Loosely translated, the song’s title Buyile means “returned”. A decade into his solo career, the track speaks to the rapper’s growing flexibility with genres. Khuli Chana first teased the song via his wife, Lamiez Holworthy’s set. Buyile is an exciting collaboration between a veteran and New Age artists. Earlier this year, Stino Le Thwenny featured Khuli Chana alongside K.O on Mshimane 2.0, the remix of their hit Mshimane. Currently, Tyler ICU seems to be the bridge between hip hop and amapiano after producing Dr Peppa’s What It Is, and Riky Rick’s Ungazincishi.

On the 14th of April 2021, UMGSA and Mythrone Records hosted a reception where, amongst other things, Khuli Chana performed “Buyile” alongside all the featured acts. The details of the partnership revealed the deal that sees Khuli Chana partnering with the major record label through his own independent imprint, Mythrone Records.

The track ‘Buyile’ follows Khuli Chana’s 2019 album ‘Planet of the Have Nots’ and is his first official single since being signed under Universal Music Group Africa through his record label called “MYTHRONE”. His previous releases include 2012’s Lost in Time, his 2017 EP One Source and his 2011 debut album MotswakOriginator, a South African hip-hop classic.
