US Singer & Dancer Jeffrey Daniel Inspired By Amapiano For Collaboration. Jeffrey Glen Daniel is an American dancer, singer-songwriter, and choreographer, most notable for being a founding member of the R&B vocal group Shalamar. In Nigeria, he is best known as a judge on the first three seasons of Nigerian Idol

We are officially in the second half of 2023 and the reign of amapiano isn’t showing any signs of losing steam. Seeing amapiano acts billed at esteemed international concerts and festivals has become less of a shocker. From Coachella to Tomorrowland, amapiano artists are making impactful strides in exporting the genre and its accompanying culture.
Amapiano and other things made Jeffrey want to put his dancing shoes and head to Mzansi for collaborations. “I love Mafikizolo. I love their song Khona, I like Focalistic and the guy who did Jerusalema, Nigeria has always been the musical giant of Africa but the South African bassline took over. It even influenced the Nigerian music scene into using that South African bassline. I want to give big props to the South African music scene. I would love to come there and collaborate with some dance studios.”
Daniel worked with Michael Jackson who had always been a fan of Daniel’s dance style since watching him on Soul Train in the 1970s. He was hired as co-choreographer on the “Bad” and “Smooth Criminal” videos with primary choreographer Vincent Paterson in which he also starred with his “dance brothers” Geron “Caszper” Candidate and Derek “Cooley” Jackson/Jaxson.
