“We Came Up With The Sound” – MFR Souls On The Originators Of Amapiano. The music duo, MFR Souls started their music journey as far back as 2013. The group is made up of Tumelo Nedondwe and Tumelo Mabe, who are also known as Maero and Force Reloaded respectively.MFR Souls are critical acclaimed as the kings of Amapiano by a lot of their fans and are currently at the forefront of the new hip and happening genre, Amapiano.
MFR Souls duo are originally from the Ekurhuleni (East Rand) in Katlehong. The artist have over the time put together their passion for beat formation and music as a whole together to build their brands.
Despite not being as commercially successful as some of their other amapiano counterparts, amapiano duo MFR Souls have long been recognised as the first amapiano artists to really make the sound commercially viable.During their discussion with another amapiano pioneer, Mr JazziQ, on the “JazziQ and Friends” podcast, the typically reclusive duo boldly proclaimed they were the originators of the trailblazing sound and that amapiano was born out of Katlehong, where they’re from.
When JazziQ probed the origins of the genre, Force Reloaded looked into the camera and responded: “Hi guys, our name is MFR Souls, and we came up with the sound, you know, with the help of the other gents.“But we’re just letting you know. So the sound is originally from Katlehong, not Soweto.”
MFR Souls got their major break in the music industry when they got signed to Sony records. Although their music journey started as far back in 2013, when they started with remixing songs and experimenting with the Amapiano sound.MFR soul has since their major break gone on to release topnotch songs. In 2019 the group dropped their hit song “Love You Tonight” featuring DJ Maphorisa , Kabza De Small and Sha Sha. The hit track elevated the music group even further into dropping a studio project.
