DJ Maphorisa Pleads With The Government To Support Amapiano.Themba Sekowe (born 15 November 1987), known professionally as DJ Maphorisa, is a South African DJ, record producer, singer, and songwriter. As a record producer with a blend of house music, amapiano and afropop, he has worked with and has received production credits from several notable artists, including Wizkid, Sizwe Alakine, Kwesta, Uhuru, Drake, Black Coffee, Major Lazer, and many other international artists.

DJ Maphorisa calls on the Arts and Culture department in SA to help Amapiano artists. The music producer says the genre is growing, and it has garnered more international audiences, however, Yano artists struggle to get visas.

“I love to see people growing, Amapiano artist/djs are doing more international gigs now which means we represent Sauta. Arts and Culture should be doing something about this, we need ur support not just money,” he wrote.

“We struggling with getting VISAS we spent too much money get them If u cud can create a system where we can get visas easy cause some artists/djs get declined The flag Must Go High.”

“Speaking my mind. Arts n Culture please take care of Amapiano Danko,” he added.
