Sol Phenduka is a South African radio personality, DJ, music producer,reality TV star, composer and song writer.Solomzi Thandubuntu Phenduka was born in Johannesburg 18 February 1987 .He has been a music producer since the age of 16.
Earlier this year, Phenduka dropped an amapiano single ‘iJager’. The creation of the song began when Phenduka played around with the beat, giving it life and then when he went to Murumba Pitch’s studio camp. Phenduka collaborated with Murumba Pitch, Marsey, Fab G, Omit ST, Bulo, Soul Jam and EmjayKeyz.
Speaking about the track, Phenduka told TimesLive: “The music landscape has changed so much, my sound has changed so much. I used to do a tribal afro-house sound and now it’s amapiano keeping up with the new wave. I gravitated towards that kind of music and I’ve loved its growth in terms of sound and texture, it accommodates musicality and artistry and expression.”
He started his music journey as a rapper, but after realising he wasn’t happy as a teenager rapping under the name Savage in Vosloorus, his single mother got him a computer and he began making hip hop beats, later he switched over to house beats.
