DJ Karri Reacts To His Hashtag Reaching 100 Million Views. Musician DJ Karri, real name Karabo Mokgara put in his dues in the industry. He’s watched, learned, and grown and it’s taken 15 years, but he’s now at his peak.

DJ Karri (36) started his music career at a casino in Hammanskraal. That was before he started working in clubs in the central business district (CBD) of Pretoria.“That was where I started to gain fans and followers because I was hosting events, so I was an event coordinator and a club DJ for a very long time, and I was not producing music.”

His career launched following the success of his hit single ‘Trigger’ which reached a gold status last year. It was all thanks to a different approach to the song, as well as a dance challenge on TikTok. The hashtag #djkarri has also been making waves on the social platform that it reached 100 million views on TikTok. Reacting to this, the DJ took to social media to celebrate the win and thanked his fans for the support. Check it out:

He’s loved music for most of his life. “I come from a family that loves music, my mom, and dad. You know my dad used to buy those records, so when I reached the age where I could attend events, I started to teach myself how to be a DJ.”

He says although some of his family members wished for him to do something that would be more stable in the long run, he was driven by his passion.“I did receive some comments that I should get a job because I won’t move forward with this but my mom was always supportive. I think maybe it was because she saw the passion and I am sure she knew that one day I am going to make it through music.”
