Safe to call her an international artist in her own right, she recently sat down with MTV UK to talk about her career and shed light with some interesting facts.
As the world continues to learn about Amapiano and all the sub genres that come from it, Tyla has been labeled a pop-piyano artist but is it a genre she feels explains her sound the best? Speaking to MTV UK, Tyla had this to say: “The kind of music I make, I don’t really like putting it in a genre. People call it afro-pop, people call it pop-piyano… I don’t know, I just know it’s a vibe.”
On her music, Tyla spoke about her single that came out earlier this year called, ‘Been Thinking’. Explaining what it means, Tyla said, “It’s basically a song about thinking about a man. You know when you’ve been somewhere and you see somebody and you can’t get that person out of your mind…? That song is definitely that feeling,” she explained.
