Samthing Soweto Reacts To A Fan Suggesting That He Works With ‘Scorpion Kings’ Again. Samkelo Lelethu Mdolomba, known professionally as Samthing Soweto, is a South African singer and songwriter. Samthing is best known for his vocals Sun-El Musician’s song “Akanamali” and his top charting song”Akulaleki”.

A fan took to social media to suggest to Samthing Soweto that he works with Scorpion Kings duo Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa. Better yet, to have an EP with his old group The Soil. Samthing Soweto liked the idea saying it is a fantastic idea. Check it out:

Much has been said about the solo career of Samthing Soweto following split from The Soil, but he comes correct as a man of his own on the amapiano EP titled ‘Isphithiphithi’. The project houses talk of town projects including Akulaleki alongside other songs assisted by Kabza De Small, DJ Maphorisa, Mlindo The Vocalist among others. The “Akulaleki” hit singer made a come back with De Mthuda leading production. The first track “Chomi” is sure to follow behind the single “Weekend”. “Chomi” has an amalgamation of South African bubblegum pop and kwaito beats from the late 1980’s and early 1990s. Samthing Soweto, who catapulted his fame with Sun El Musician’s hit “Akanamali”, shows that he is not only a mellow voiced singer but also modern storyteller. “Tilili” featuring Malumnator and Da Muziqal Chef is a finely tuned song to listen to. “Hey Wena” featuring Alie-Keys and Entity Musiq is a trippy lover’s groove song. In short Danko! is perfect with just the right amount of quality tracks.

While the star found it unbelievable to be topping charts at his age. “[A South African artist winning both charts, which have existed since 2015] has never happened in this country before, and that’s crazy. I’m 31. For me to come at my age, late-ish, to pull something like that off…” He said.
