Zee Nxumalo continues to take South African culture to the world after making history with the launch of her first international pop-up store, “Zee’s Spaza,” in London.

The rising Amapiano star recently brought a piece of home to the United Kingdom, transforming her international appearance at Piano People in the Park at Southwark Park into an opportunity to showcase the vibrant culture and creativity of South African townships.

The unique pop-up gave Londoners a taste of authentic kasi culture, featuring familiar items and playful references that many South Africans will instantly recognise. From iconic Chappies bubblegum, complete with its famous “Did You Know?” facts, to Lucky Packets and humorous mock “God Is Able Salon” signs, Zee’s Spaza created an experience that celebrated the everyday details of township life.

Rather than simply performing her music overseas, Zee Nxumalo used the platform to introduce international audiences to another side of South Africa. The pop-up highlighted the creativity, humour and character that can be found in kasi communities, showing that township culture can travel far beyond the country’s borders.

Zee Nxumalo took to Instagram to celebrate the milestone, sharing her excitement with fans and thanking everyone who helped bring the concept to life.

“Zee’s Spaza!!! Our first global pop up . Thank you to the team and to all my fans who came through for the experience. This is the first of many!” she wrote.

The announcement has been met with excitement from fans who have watched Zee Nxumalo’s career grow from a promising young talent into one of the most exciting names in South African music.

Her decision to take “Zee’s Spaza” overseas also reflects the growing international interest in Amapiano and South African culture. As the genre continues to reach audiences across the globe, artists such as Zee Nxumalo are finding creative ways to share more than just music with international fans.

The London pop-up was therefore more than a promotional activation. It became a cultural experience, connecting people in London with familiar South African products, jokes, imagery and township references.

For Zee Nxumalo, the project represents another step in her expanding global journey. Having already performed internationally and built a growing audience outside South Africa, she is now showing that her influence can extend beyond the stage.

“Zee’s Spaza” may only be the beginning, especially with the singer promising that this is “the first of many.”

As Zee Nxumalo continues to build her international profile, her latest venture proves that South African kasi culture can be celebrated anywhere in the world.

From the streets of Mzansi to the heart of London, Zee Nxumalo is taking home with her — and fans are clearly ready for the next stop.
