Johannesburg-based DJ and producer DJ Tshegu is entering a powerful new era in her career as she continues to make major moves across the music and entertainment industry. In just five months, the Bloemfontein-born artist has launched her own record label, secured a radio residency at YFM, and announced her second Australian tour — proving that her momentum is only getting stronger.
One of the biggest highlights of this exciting chapter is the launch of DJ Tshegu Entertainment, her newly established record label created in partnership with Africori and Warner Music Africa. The label represents more than just a business venture; it is a long-term vision aimed at creating opportunities for emerging artists and ensuring her sound and legacy continue beyond her own releases.
Known for her intentional and emotionally driven approach to music, DJ Tshegu says the label was built with community and longevity in mind. Her goal is not only to grow her own career but also to develop and uplift the next generation of talent within South African music.
Beyond the studio and stage, DJ Tshegu has also been making an impact through mentorship and education. Earlier this year, she was selected as a speaker and music production facilitator for Tems’ “She Leads” masterclass — a program focused on empowering women in the music industry. Drawing from her own journey as a former sound engineering student and producer, she shared both technical knowledge and personal experiences with aspiring female creatives.
Her growing influence has now extended into radio as she officially joins YFM as the new on-air mix DJ for Club Y. The role places her at the center of one of South Africa’s biggest youth platforms, giving her an opportunity to connect with even more listeners nationwide through her signature sound and dynamic sets.
DJ Tshegu is also preparing to release new music. Her upcoming single “Ebumnandini,” produced alongside “Snokonoko” hitmaker Al Xapo, is expected to set the tone for her next musical chapter ahead of her Australian tour beginning on 29 May 2026.
From stepping in for her father at a wedding in Lesotho at just four years old to becoming a respected DJ, producer, and entrepreneur, DJ Tshegu’s journey reflects passion, purpose, and resilience. As she continues building platforms, creating music, and expanding globally, she is quickly cementing herself as one of South Africa’s most inspiring rising stars.
