Rising music producer and artist Sobzeen has stepped forward to address and dismiss recent rumours alleging that he accused DJ Stokie of owing him R2.4 million in unpaid royalties.
This controversy began after Sunday World published an article claiming that Sobzeen had made serious allegations against DJ Stokie regarding unpaid royalties for several hit songs. The report quickly gained traction, sparking heated discussions online and casting a shadow over the artists’ relationship.
However, Sobzeen has taken to his social media platforms to publicly clear his name and set the record straight. In a video posted to his official channels, Sobzeen categorically denied the claims reported by the media outlet.
“I’m doing this video regarding the article circulating from Sunday World that I want to clear—about Stokie robbing me of royalties, which is a lie and something I did not say,” he stated. “I’ve never met Sunday World or any of their journalists. I’m trying to clear that I never said that, and even if I did—it’s not true. I respect Stokie’s brand, and I also respect mine. Stokie and I have come far, and we are still working together even now. We don’t have a problem with each other and I don’t think we ever will.”
Alongside the video, Sobzeen also shared a written message on his socials, further emphasizing his respect for DJ Stokie. He wrote,
“False News !! !!
I can’t go around saying things that will ruin my career or decrease chances for me to work with other people. Sunday World maybe took my information from other sources which I was interviewed for and painted me like this. I respect DJ Stokie—he groomed me a lot, has been there for me. Every relationship has its own fights, but what’s written ain’t part of that. Thank you.”
Sobzeen’s swift and clear response has helped ease tensions and reassure fans that there is no rift between him and DJ Stokie. The two artists, who have collaborated on numerous successful tracks, continue to work together, proving that their professional relationship remains strong despite the media storm.
