South African Amapiano star Robot Boii recently took to social media to honour his legendary father, Mzwakhe Mbuli, as he celebrated his 66th birthday on Friday, 1 August 2025. The multi-talented performer and media personality shared a touching birthday message, expressing deep admiration for his father — a cultural icon, poet, and activist.

The father-son bond was on full display as Robot Boii, whose real name is Mzwakhe Mbuli Jr., posted a series of heartwarming photos on Instagram. In the pictures, the pair beam with pride and affection, symbolising both generational legacy and personal connection.

Robot Boii paired the post with a deeply personal caption, writing:

“Happy Birthday @mzwakhembuli. 1st Slide: ‘So because we share a name, it doesn’t really matter who takes the Frame home, does it?’ May God continue using you in a Mighty way. God Bless you, SNR… Love JNR.”

The message not only reflects Robot Boii’s love for his father but also his respect for the legacy Mzwakhe Mbuli has built over decades. Known as the “People’s Poet,” Mbuli has been a prominent voice in South Africa’s cultural and political scene, using poetry to confront social injustice and uplift communities. In September 2024, he was officially inducted into the Wall of Fame at the Soweto Theatre, cementing his place among South Africa’s most influential artists.

Robot Boii, who has carved out his own path as a leading figure in the Amapiano movement, has often credited his father for inspiring his creativity and sense of purpose. Their relationship has become a powerful symbol of how artistry, activism, and legacy can span generations.

Fans and fellow artists flooded the comments section of the post with birthday wishes and messages of appreciation for the elder Mbuli’s contributions to South African culture. Many also praised Robot Boii for consistently showing love and humility despite his growing fame in the music industry.

As both men continue to leave their marks in their respective fields, it’s clear that the Mbuli name stands for passion, perseverance, and purpose. This latest tribute from Robot Boii is not just a birthday wish — it’s a celebration of family, heritage, and impact.
