Amapiano sensation Mawhoo has found herself at the center of an unexpected scandal after her official photographer, Lebogang Lebero, accused Bacardi musician Enny Man Da Guitar of being behind the theft of professional camera equipment worth R50,000.
The explosive allegations stem from a recent photoshoot in Pretoria, where Lebero claims he was set up by Enny Man Da Guitar, real name Ernest Zwane. According to Lebero, Zwane arranged the shoot and introduced him to a group of unfamiliar artists, supposedly for promotional work. What followed, however, was anything but routine.
“He sent people to me as a recommendation and told me he had worked with them before. After they buttered me up and made promises, they robbed me,” said a visibly shaken Lebero. “I managed to escape. Imagine if they kidnapped me. He later claimed he didn’t know them, but I believe he was the mastermind.”
The stolen gear—which included a high-end camera, tripod, lighting equipment, and accessories—had been loaned to Lebero by Mawhoo, further complicating the situation.
“Now she thinks I scammed her,” he lamented. “The equipment cost R50,000, and I can’t replace it. I’ve lost my job and gigs because people no longer trust me.”
Lebero said he initially had a verbal agreement with Enny Man Da Guitar to split the cost of replacing the stolen equipment, but no payments have been made. “I was patient with him, but he’s now acting like he knows nothing. I’m the breadwinner, my mom depends on me, and I will not rest until I get my equipment back.”
In response, Enny Man Da Guitar has flatly denied the allegations. “I’m not part of any theft or criminal activity. I’m just a musician trying to succeed. Lebo must open a criminal case. I wasn’t there, and I can’t be blamed for his loss.”
A case has since been opened with authorities as Lebero pursues legal action. Meanwhile, Mawhoo has remained silent, with fans now speculating about the potential fallout in her camp as trust is put to the test.
