Scotts Maphuma Calls Out Fake Twitter Account

Rising Amapiano star Scotts Maphuma has once again found himself at the center of controversy—this time due to a fake Twitter account that issued a public apology in his name. The musician quickly took to his verified Instagram account to set the record straight and warn his fans.

The fake Twitter account posted a message saying:

“I want to take a moment to sincerely apologise to all my supporters. I’ve let some of you down, and I take full responsibility. Growth comes with owning your mistakes and I’m committed to doing better, for myself and for you. Thank you for still believing in me.”

However, Scotts Maphuma wasted no time distancing himself from the statement. Sharing a screenshot of the tweet on his Instagram story, he wrote,

“This is not my account. I DON’T EVEN HAVE TWITTER!!! Delete.”

This comes shortly after the artist faced backlash from fans, many of whom accused him of having a bad attitude during recent performances and interactions. Things escalated after fans claimed they no longer respond to his sets, alleging that the vibe was lost due to his behavior. The situation has been brewing since a recent Instagram Live session with DJ Maphorisa, where Maphorisa confronted Scotts and told him that “the streets are angry.” Scotts responded by asking for forgiveness, saying it was all a misunderstanding.

While some fans accepted the apology made during the live session, others remained skeptical—especially after this new twist involving the fake Twitter statement. Some believe the fake apology may have been an attempt to do damage control, while others think it could have been a fan trying to repair his public image.

Either way, Scotts Maphuma is making it clear that he’s not entertaining any statements that don’t come directly from him. By publicly addressing the issue, he’s drawing a line and urging fans to be cautious about where they get their information.

As the drama continues, it remains to be seen how this will affect Scotts’ momentum in the music industry. One thing is certain: he’s not letting anyone speak on his behalf without permission.
