Amapiano pioneer Kabza De Small has been forced to cancel several upcoming performances due to illness, leaving fans concerned and hopeful for his quick recovery. The hitmaker, known for his relentless work ethic and commitment to his craft, issued an official statement via his Instagram page on Monday, expressing regret over the unfortunate development.

In the message shared with fans, Kabza De Small wrote:

“To my beloved fans,

Due to a very sudden and unfortunate illness, I regret to inform you that I will not be able to perform. I deeply apologise to my supporters and the event sponsors for any inconvenience this may cause. My team is working tirelessly to find a suitable alternative date for my performances.

– Kabza De Small”

While the exact nature of the illness was not disclosed, sources close to the artist confirmed that the decision was made based on medical advice, emphasizing the importance of rest and recovery. Fans and fellow artists quickly took to social media to flood the DJ and producer with messages of support, wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

Kabza, real name Kabelo Motha, is one of South Africa’s most revered music producers and has played a pivotal role in taking the Amapiano genre global. Just recently, he had announced a U.S. tour, with shows scheduled for Chicago, New York, and Washington D.C. in June. However, it remains unclear whether these international performances will also be affected by his current health condition.

Promoters and event organizers have echoed Kabza’s sentiments, reassuring ticket holders that updates will be provided and that they are working closely with his management to reschedule performances where possible.

Kabza De Small’s legacy and influence in music remain strong, and the outpouring of love shows just how deeply he is respected in the industry. All eyes are now on his recovery, with hopes that he’ll be back behind the decks soon.
