A woman has issued a public apology after falsely claiming she had a romantic encounter with renowned Amapiano producer Kabza De Small. The apology follows backlash over a now-viral video in which the woman, alongside two friends, drunkenly boasted about allegedly bedding the hitmaker.
The controversial clip made the rounds on social media over the weekend, causing a stir among fans and followers of the “Imithandazo” hitmaker. In the video, the woman and her visibly intoxicated friends laugh and jokingly claim to have had sexual relations with Kabza De Small. However, what may have started as a drunken joke quickly turned into a serious matter, with many online users slamming the women for spreading false narratives.
On Monday, 21 April, a follow-up video surfaced showing the same woman apologising and retracting her statements. In a noticeably more sober and humble tone, she explained that the comments made in the initial video were not true and were said under the influence of alcohol.
“It was a joke. We were just having fun, and I didn’t think it would be taken seriously or go this far. I sincerely apologise to Kabza and his family for any harm or damage this may have caused,” she said.
Despite her public apology, social media users were far from forgiving. Many online users flooded the comments with calls for Kabza De Small to take legal action against the woman, arguing that false allegations—whether made in jest or not—can seriously tarnish someone’s reputation.
Kabza De Small has not officially commented on the matter, but fans are standing by him, urging the Amapiano pioneer to protect his name and brand.
This incident comes after the artist previously trended for allegations related to infidelity. However, with this recent retraction, Kabza may finally be getting some reprieve from the swirling rumors.
