South African sensation Uncle Waffles brought amapiano heat to Los Angeles this week, performing at a once-off festival hosted by H&M to celebrate the launch of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection.
Held on Wednesday night, the immersive event united global icons and rising stars from across music, fashion, and culture. The high-energy lineup featured performances by Doechii, Robyn, Jamie xx, PinkPantheress, SAILORR, and more. Representing the global rise of South African sounds, Uncle Waffles, Scorpion Kings, and Major League DJzdelivered electrifying sets that turned the event into a full-blown amapiano showcase.
Guests in attendance included chart-topping singer Tyla, content creator Sydney Seethal, and fashion stars like Amelia Gray, Dakota Fanning, Lisa Rinna, Dixie D’Amelio, Barbie Ferreira, and Amelia Dimoldenberg. South African fashion and media personalities Elaine, Melody Molale, and Violy Nyama were also spotted soaking in the vibes as friends of the brand.
“Last night was really special. The energy was just right, the vibe was EVERYTHING,” said Doechii of the unforgettable experience.
The H&M&LA Festival was more than just a party—it was a love letter to Los Angeles. Paying homage to the city’s iconic cultural influence, the event blended film, music, art, and fashion in a kaleidoscope of visuals, digital installations, and live performances.
Guests explored two main stages and a bespoke club experience, while indulging in LA culinary staples from In-N-Out, Pink’s Hot Dogs, and Kogi BBQ Tacos.
“This one-of-a-kind festival is a celebration of fashion, music, joy, and community—the very heart of what H&M is all about,” said Jörgen Andersson, H&M’s Chief Creative Officer.
Open to the public via social sign-ups, the event forms part of H&M’s global mega-event strategy that has included Times Square takeovers and live shows in London, Paris, and Stockholm.
The night also marked the international launch of the second chapter of H&M’s S/S 2025 collection—an ethereal, festival-ready line nodding to rock-and-roll rebellion, bohemian flair, and New Romantic glam. South Africans can expect to shop the new collection this coming August.
With Uncle Waffles leading the soundscape and LA’s cultural pulse front and centre, the night proved that fashion and music are still the world’s favourite power duo.
