Amapiano sensation Sir Trill is officially back—and he’s returning stronger, smarter, and more independent than ever. The “Banyana” hitmaker, born Tumelo Zwane, is stepping back into the spotlight in 2025 with a renewed sense of purpose, new music, and his very own record label.
After a quiet spell and an emotional fallout with the music industry in 2023—where he publicly voiced his frustrations about exploitation and lack of recognition—Sir Trill is now flipping the script. Speaking to Sunday World, he revealed that the love from fans played a huge role in his comeback.
“Because I was already working on music to release, and a lot of people were asking. So it was a break for me to make more music,” he shared.
Sir Trill is known for his distinct vocals, deep lyrics, and hits that resonate with millions. But beyond the music, he’s now focused on the business side of things too. In a bid to take control of his own destiny, he launched his independent label Ghost Music Group in March 2025, signaling a new era of ownership and creative freedom.
“It is very important to educate yourself about the music business. This growth will help me navigate the industry challenges more effectively,” Sir Trill said. “Now, I’m a bit more experienced.”
Despite the shift, some things haven’t changed. Sir Trill is sticking to his signature process—working quietly in his own space while staying open to powerful collaborations. His upcoming work includes projects with top amapiano producers and vocalists, staying true to his soulful roots while embracing new sounds.
“Nothing changes using the same method and navigation, which is rather to keep to myself but be open to collaborating with other producers and artists,” he added.
Fans can expect a steady rollout of music this year under his Ghost Music Group banner, with an emphasis on authenticity, creativity, and healing. His return isn’t just about dropping tracks—it’s about reclaiming his narrative.
