Amapiano rising star Justin 99 has officially parted ways with Black is Brown Entertainment, the powerhouse label that helped launch his musical journey. The multi-talented artist, best known for hits like “Gilikidi”, made the heartfelt announcement on Instagram, thanking the label for its support as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.

In a statement shared with fans, Justin 99 confirmed that his contract with Black is Brown concluded on April 22, 2025, marking the end of an important era. “As my contract with Black is Brown concluded yesterday… I wanted to take a moment to extend my heartfelt thanks,” he wrote. He went on to express gratitude for the label’s guidance, leadership, and the lessons he learned during his time with them.

“Your kindness and leadership have been invaluable to me, and I truly appreciate everything you have taught me and the positive influence you have had on my professional growth,” the statement continued.

Black is Brown Entertainment, founded by Amapiano pioneer Mr JazziQ, has been instrumental in elevating the careers of some of the genre’s brightest stars. Justin 99, with his distinctive style and creative flair, quickly rose to popularity under the label’s banner. His departure marks a significant move, signaling that the artist is ready to carve out a path of his own.

Fans and industry peers have responded with mixed emotions—many expressing pride in Justin’s growth, while others are curious to see what direction he’ll take musically. The announcement has also sparked speculation about possible new collaborations or the formation of his own independent label.

While details about his next steps remain under wraps, Justin 99 made it clear he’s not stepping away from the spotlight. Instead, he’s stepping into something new—with confidence, experience, and a loyal fanbase by his side.
