Rising Amapiano star DJ Kmat has reached a major career milestone, becoming the first artist to receive the Jägermeister Global Pass—a groundbreaking initiative aimed at elevating South African talent onto international stages. The Soshanguve-born DJ, real name Koketso Reabetswe Mathabathe, is now set to headline the prestigious International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza in 2025.

The Global Pass, launched by Jägermeister, is designed to celebrate cultural excellence and provide meaningful access for local artists to perform and collaborate on a global scale. Speaking to TshisaLIVE, DJ Kmat expressed overwhelming gratitude and excitement about the opportunity.

“I’m so excited to be going to Ibiza. I feel so honoured to be performing at this prestigious event. This platform has opened so many doors for other artists before me, I hope it does the same for me,” she said.

The IMS Ibiza is a globally recognized music summit that attracts the biggest names in electronic and dance music. Kmat’s inclusion marks a significant moment not only for her personal journey but also for the wider South African music industry, particularly the Amapiano movement that continues to grow internationally.

DJ Kmat burst onto the scene in 2022 with her debut EP, Luminous Flame, which featured collaborations with Amapiano heavyweights. Her unique sound, dynamic DJ sets, and strong musical identity have quickly earned her recognition and respect in the genre’s fast-growing community.

Jägermeister, known for supporting creative communities, emphasized their long-term commitment to South African artists. Ephraim Manana, spokesperson for the brand, explained:

“The launch of the Global Pass is our next step in this journey, creating meaningful opportunities for South African artists to connect, collaborate, and thrive internationally. Supporting Kmat’s presence at IMS Ibiza 2025 is more than just a sponsorship—it’s a statement of belief in the future of South African music and its place at the heart of global culture.”

DJ Kmat’s upcoming performance at IMS Ibiza is not just another gig—it’s a historic moment that solidifies her as a global ambassador for Amapiano and a shining example of how home-grown talent can rise to the world stage. Fans can expect an unforgettable set as she flies the South African flag high in Ibiza.
